Trapbob (Tenbeete Solomon)

This mural was inspired by the children of Washington, DC. Made possible by No Kid Hungry in partnership with Noodles & Company and the Popeyes Foundation.

Mural artist Tenbeete Solomon wanted to highlight the role of essential workers - like bus drivers - during the pandemic. "There are people who don’t have a choice to stay home," she said. "They’re the only reason we’re getting by."

The hands symbolize people coming together after a difficult time, said Tenbeete Solomon, the artist. "We need to reimagine a lot of things because a lot of things weren't working before.”

Since the pandemic struck, No Kid Hungry has provided over $1.4 million in grants to Washington DC schools and community groups working to feed local kids.
