This month, we are featuring one of our incredible livestream fundraisers. Isaac Calpito, known as Isaac Boots, is a celebrity trainer, choreographer and Broadway dancer. He is also a No Kid Hungry hero raising funds for hungry kids across the country.
Isaac began hosting his signature Torch’d workouts on Instagram Live at the start of the pandemic last year, and over 1,000 viewers were tuning in by the end of the first week. Eager to find a way to give back during the crisis, he created a No Kid Hungry fundraising page and began encouraging his viewers to donate.
When Isaac signed up to fundraise last March, his first goal was $1,000 and within 24 hours he’d reached $10,000. In just over seven months, Isaac raised over $1.2 million with the support of his Torch’d community. Throughout the past year, he has done numerous Instagram Live fundraisers to include a few with celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Lisa Rinna and Kelly Ripa.
“We have been blown away by what Isaac has accomplished over the past year. While we’ve raised millions of dollars to end child hunger in America, we’ve not seen one individual raise the amount of money that Isaac has from their community. This speaks volumes about his leadership and commitment as well as the love and respect his followers have for him. We will always be grateful to him as will the community of children we serve,” said Debbie Shore, co-founder of No Kid Hungry’s parent organization, Share Our Strength.
Isaac has a personal connection to the mission of our organization. He has shared with us and his community that he comes from very humble means. Growing up there were times when his family didn’t know where their next meal would come from.
When the opportunity came to support No Kid Hungry, he said “It was a no brainer to me. I felt a commitment to give back and do my part.”
We are deeply grateful for Isaac’s commitment to support our work this past year and for the incredible generosity of his community. His efforts will have a huge impact on our mission to feed hungry kids during this crisis and on the long road to recovery.
