Inspired by Atlanta Area Children

This mural was inspired by the children of Atlanta. Made possible by No Kid Hungry in partnership with Arby’s Foundation, General Mills Big G Cereals, and Humana.

George F. Baker III, who painted this mural, spoke to local kids about the past year: "I heard their want and need for human connection. We all feel the need to be understood and close to others.”

Schools in Atlanta - and across the country - had to transform their meal programs overnight. Many loaded school buses with food and delivered them so students wouldn’t go hungry.

In the wake of the coronavirus, millions of children are still living with hunger in the United States - as many as 1 in 6.

Since the pandemic struck, No Kid Hungry has provided over $2 million in grants to Georgia schools and community groups for equipment and supplies to help feed kids.
Inspired by New York City Children

This mural was inspired by the children of Queens, NY. Made possible by No Kid Hungry, Citi and the New York Mets.

The coronavirus pandemic was a crisis for everyone, especially families struggling to make ends meet. Today, 1 in 6 kids in the United States may still be living with hunger.

During the crisis, we saw people everywhere step up to help feed kids - from everyday donors to school staff to Citi and the New York Mets.

John P. Dessereau, who painted this mural, spoke to kids in Queens about the past year: "They want an emergence from the darkness of the pandemic. They see the Queensboro Bridge as a powerful metaphor for coming out of these dark times.”

With support from our donors and partners, No Kid Hungry provided $4 million in grants to help New York schools and communities feed children during the pandemic.
