Washington, DC - Millions of vulnerable children are losing the healthy meals they depend on as the coronavirus closes schools nationwide.
No Kid Hungry has a plan to feed them. As an immediate response, we are urging Congress to pass emergency SNAP funding for low-income families and making local emergency grants to ensure children across the country have access to free meals during this crisis. The No Kid Hungry emergency grant funds will support a wide-range of efforts, including home delivered meals, pop-up meals programs, schools and community pantries, backpack programs, and other steps to help reach kids and families who lose access to meals.
School districts and community organizations in need of real-time assistance can apply for these grants online at https://www.nokidhungry.org/coronavirus-grant-request.
