Food Lion Feeds, the hunger-relief platform of omnichannel retailer Food Lion, is committed to helping neighbors in need. Food Lion Feeds’ support of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is part of the company’s broader commitment to fight hunger. The partnership will help reduce the gap between the number of school children who are eligible to receive free school breakfast and those children who receive a meal. When kids start their day with a healthy breakfast, they do better on tests, have fewer discipline problems, have fewer health problems, and are more likely to graduate from high school. Since 2019, Food Lion has given $1.7M to No Kid Hungry which can help provide 170 million meals* to kids. As part of Food Lion Feeds’ investment, the funding has supported grants to 55 school districts and community organizations working to feed children through school meals, summer meal sites and additional food distribution programs across Food Lion’s 10-state footprint.
