Frequently Asked Questions

What are employee matching gift programs?
Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible non-profit organizations. It's an easy way to double your contribution to No Kid Hungry!
How do I request a matching gift?
Requesting a matching gift is normally a five-minute process that must be initiated by the donor or volunteer. You can do this by filling out the Double the Donation application above or submitting a match form provided by your employer.
Are matching gifts tax-deductible?
While your donation to a 501(c)3 organization is tax-deductible, your matching gift is not tax-deductible. Only your contributions are eligible for tax deduction. Each party involved (yourself and your employer) can only take deductions for contributions they directly made to the non-profit.
My employer wasn't listed. Can I still have my donation matched?
Please check with your company's Human Resources or Community Giving department. Your company may still offer a matching gift program. If they do not already have a program, please reach out to our Corporate Partnerships team to help them start one.
How long does it take to receive a match?
The process length can vary depending on your company, but requesting your match sooner means No Kid Hungry can receive funds faster.
Can I request a match if I already donated?
Yes! If you donated to No Kid Hungry this year, you can still have your gift matched. Check with your employer for more details.
