Restore SUN Bucks Funding

Don't let 1.2 million Georgia Kids Face Hunger This Summer

What Happened

The SUN Bucks program helps families afford groceries during the summer months when kids lose access to school meals. The House Appropriations Committee had already done the right thing and included funding for this critical program in their budget proposal. The Senate has since removed that funding, putting Georgia's participation in the program, and the kids who need this nutrition support, at risk. Without state support, Georgia cannot access these SUN Bucks dollars, and 1.2 million kids could lose out on critical nutrition support in future summers.

The Good News

The House still has the power to restore this funding, but the clock is ticking. The House Committee on Appropriations needs to hear from advocates like you right now, while the budget is still being finalized.
