Thanksgiving will be here before you know it—21 days from today.

If you’re like me, the abundance of the season is a reminder to reflect on what you have and to do what you can for those who aren’t as fortunate.

This Thanksgiving, you can help by setting a place at the No Kid Hungry Table for a child in need. It’s not a physical table that you can see or touch, but it exists on playgrounds and in classrooms, kitchens and cafeterias—all of the places we’re feeding kids who might otherwise go hungry—not just at Thanksgiving, but all year long.

We’re bringing millions of kids to this table by funding innovative school breakfast programs, expanding summer and after school meals across the country, and teaching families how to shop for and cook affordable, healthy meals at home.

But to make this possible, we need your help. We’ve set a goal to raise $300,000 by Thanksgiving Day. Will you step up with a special gift to make a lasting difference for kids facing hunger? Your donation of just $46 can help connect a child to 220 meals in the coming year.

I have a really easy slituoon for you! I count calories too, and i got this app on my ipod touch called a calorie counter, it is a life saver! You type in the food you ate and it tells you how many calories you consumed, how many you have left and logs your progress. You can even find many different food from restaurants in there! I would suggest Sandra Lee’s semi homemade cooking or Rachel Ray 30 minute meals or maybe Paula Deen. Emeril, Bobby Flay, etc cook a lot of complicated things that many people do not have the ingredients on hand for. One person suggested buying a Joy of Cooking cook book, or one of the Better Homes and Gardens cook books would work as well. These cookbooks will explain the techniques in cooking (such as braising, roasting, etc) and will explain in detail how to prepare and cook the meals.You might also ask a friend or family member that can cook to help you.
