Kumar Chandran

Program Manager

Kumar joined Share Our Strength in November 2011 and brings nearly five years of experience with working on food and nutrition policy and programs at the state level. Prior to joining Share Our Strength, he worked at California Food Policy Advocates in Oakland, California where his focus was on legislative and administrative policy changes to improve the health and nutrition of low-income children, primarily through strengthening the federal nutrition assistance safety net. Kumar has a Master of Science in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, a Master of Public Health from the Tufts University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from the University of California at Berkeley.
