

Dawn Melchiorre is the Illinois No Kid Hungry Campaign Manager - a partnership between Share Our Strength and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Dawn has extensive experience in child policy and advocacy most notable serving as Policy Outreach Director at Voices for Illinois Children where she spearheaded the organization’s work in health policy at the state and federal level. Before joining Illinois’ child advocacy community, she spent over a decade as the co-founder and Director of Operations of a restaurant company with her husband in Chicago. Dawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Communications from Loyola University Chicago; a Masters in Public Policy from DePaul University’s School of Public Service and is currently pursuing a MBA from Concordia University in River Forest. As the mother of three teenage children, she is passionate about child nutrition and hunger.
