What began simply as a family baking together for a good cause turned into a life-changing experience.
Jerry, Gail and their children, Dylan and Caitlin, wanted to do something about childhood hunger in their local community, so they signed up for Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale®. Six years later, they have raised $8,000 for kids in need. The experience has brought them closer as a family and helped them connect with their community, including those less fortunate. As they’ve grown older, Dylan and Caitlin have taken over much of the planning for the annual event and learned real world skills. “They’re more focused on the community and less on themselves. It’s helped them become young leaders,” their mother proudly observes.
